AT MISSION CONTROL - ROOM 3 - a year 8 class at BALMORAL SCHOOL, MT EDEN, AUCKLAND
TERM 2 MENU
RICH TASK - BODY SYSTEMS. We will be looking at the idea of a "system" and, then what are its characteristics, then investigating body systems. Thinking about how individual parts work together to contribute to a "system", and how if one part is faulty it affects the functioning of this system.
MATHS-PROBLEM SOLVING/ STATISTICS/ MEASUREMENT - Integrating these into the Rich Task investigation
LITERACY- EXPLANATIONS. Reading and writing explanations, identifying and using the features of explanatory writing. Integrating these into the Rich Task.
SCIENCE- Body senses.Investigating and testing the different senses of the body.
HEALTH- PUBERTAL CHANGE AND SEXUALITY. Understanding how our bodies and thinking changes during puberty
PE- WINTER GAMES AND FITNESS.Integrating fitness testing into Rich Task
LANGUAGES- MAORI Basic greetings, counting numbers and place names
ART- USING THE BODY AS A THEME FOR DIFFERENT MEDIA
